We spoke to the Founder of EYM candles, Poppy Wall, about the importance of daily rituals.

"Sometimes I think our daily rituals are the things that can make us the happiest. Whether it be your first coffee of the morning, your shower routine, or maybe that evening yoga class that you always slightly dread but then leaves you feeling like a whole new person. These small everyday acts can often be the most grounding things in our lives.

For me, I used to have this ritual of coming home from work, dimming the lights, lighting a candle and pouring myself a herbal tea (or large glass of red wine). It was almost like this my way of drawing a line between a busy work day and the moment I allowed myself to switch off.

The Christmas period can really throw you off kilter though, all the good things you do throughout the year to restore yourself go out the window and of course that’s part of the fun of it, but sometimes you need a helping hand to get you back into a healthy mindset. Creating daily habits in January can set you up for the year ahead and because we all know to well that we can quickly become consumed by the daily grind of life that we forget the little rituals that make us truly happy. Our SOUL candle is all about encouraging you to do things that are good for the soul, to take back those quiet moments of joy that are a tonic to your wellbeing. Neroli, the main ingredient in the SOUL candle is the ultimate luxury. Neroli essential oil invokes a feeling of serenity and happiness while uplifting you, it helps relieve stress and anxiety and relaxes both the body and mind. Maybe you’ll burn it while you write in your gratitude journal, or when you’re having a bath, or just enjoying an evening with loved ones. Whatever you do, make sure when you light it, you take a moment for yourself and breath in the good vibes."
