The S'well Guide to Hydrating On the Go

Staying hydrated is one of the most important things we can do for our bodies, and is a vital part of any detox regimen. Drinking enough water helps us rid our body of toxins, avoid disease, maintain our weight, digest our food and brighten our skin. Studies have shown that proper hydration can help keep cortisol levels low, reducing stress and increasing productivity.

But with our increasingly busy lives, it can be difficult to make hydration a priority, and studies show that many of us are walking (or running) around dehydrated most of the time. So how can we incorporate hydration into our lives as we set out on our spring detox?

Here are a few quick and easy ideas:

Get A Reusable—and Beautiful—Water Bottle
This part is pretty simple—bringing water with you means you’ll have a constant reminder to drink. But the trick is wanting to bring it along—and this is where design comes in. When your reusable water bottle is an object that you love and want to show off, you’re much more likely to carry it with you. That’s why S’well puts such stock in great design, having created more than 200 patterns and colors. We want you to feel excited and proud of your bottle, so you can drink more throughout the day.

Create Reminders for Yourself
Whether it’s downloading an app that reminds you to sip, or syncing up your water intake with other recurring tasks in your day, little reminders can be helpful for prioritizing hydration in your busy day. You can even put a post-it note on your computer or work station to keep you on track.

Diversify Your Hydration
Though water is the easiest and most straight-forward way to hydrate, there are plenty of other liquids and foods—especially ones with electrolytes and minerals— that do the job, too. Fresh fruit, vegetable juices and coconut water are great, as well as foods that contain a lot of water, like cucumbers, watermelon, soups, and most green vegetables. You can also add lemon, lime, or tasty herbs to your water to make it more enticing if you’re sipping all day.
